Property and Land in the Cape Verde Islands
The Cape Verde Islands property and land industry has now become established. Continuing foreign investment in this area is transforming the country.
Not only is property in the Cape Verde Islands a great investment, but it is creating many jobs and facilitating the development of the tourism industry and the country as a whole.
The Cape Verde Islands have now developed a property market with numerous agents and developers. This is very exciting for us, as we entered the market in its infancy when most people in the UK had never even heard of Cape Verde.
Initially property investment concentrated mainly in Sal and in particular Santa Maria. Development is now starting to cover more of the island, especially on the Western coast and even in Pedra de Lume. Many large property developments are planned or are already being built. There is even talk of a number of golf courses on the island.
Other islands are now starting to get the attention they deserve.
Boa Vista now has a new international airport. Property development on the island has mainly been centred on Sal Rei and Praia da Chave.
Maio is wonderful for those of you that wish to really get away from things. Property investment here has been concentrated in Vila do Maio and Morro.
Sao Vicente is now getting plenty of attention and is really one of the favourite islands for those that know Cape Verde well. Mindelo is lovely and is seeing lots of investment in property. Development is also taking place in Baia das Gatas, Calhau and San Pedro.
Santiago has seen property development concentrated in a few, large resort style developments around San Francisco Bay and the Southern coast West of Praia. Tarrafal is also experiencing some investment.
Santo Antao is just starting to see investment in property. We have developments in Porto Novo and near Paul.
Lots of land for sale is still available on the islands. We have many contacts that supply us with numerous opportunities, from small front-line plots to whole valleys.
As you can imagine the areas that have seen the biggest investment have experienced the fastest price rises. There are still many underdeveloped areas that represent real opportunities for developers and investors alike.
